Andrea Vasquez: "Now I'm Gone"
What inspires your music?
I've always been inspired by different genres of music and I think you can absolutely hear that in my music. I like to incorporate catchy pop elements and big instrument breaks when I picture what the songs would sound like playing live.
How did you start your recording career?
I always knew I wanted pursue a music career but seriously pursued it in college. I went to a contemporary arts college where I learned how navigate the industry by learning the business aspect of it and getting comfortable with the recording and performance aspect of it as well.
You’re brand new single is called Now I’m Gone? How did you come up with it?
I wrote this song a few years ago in LA and always really liked it however, it wasn't up until more recently that I went through a situation where this song had a much deeper meaning to me. The meaning of this song is knowing when it is time to let go of something that is just not serving you any good anymore. It's knowing when to leave without looking back. I know most of us have been there before and I hope listeners can really relate to it and feel empowered by this song.
What is your genre of music?
My genre is definitely country or country pop. I like big songs that have a lot of energy behind them with some sass behind it! I've always been inspired by strong females who give remarkable performances and have a lot to say in their music.
Who are your influences?
My biggest influences are Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Britney Spears. Divas all the way.
How do you describe success?
Success to me would be making music that has an impact over people and to be happy and confident doing so.
What can we expect from you in 2020?
This year you can expect a lot more new music coming from me and live shows to be booked this year. I'm excited for everyone to hear what else I've got to say.
