What inspires your music?

Personal experiences mostly and musicians around me that I make music with. I also get inspiration from experiences around that triggers me to think deeply of a personal relation.

In terms of creating music, when I hear a beat that I click with, I start humming melodies and the lyrics seem to come after. Sometimes, I get a melody in my head and record a voice note. Then, that melody somehow comes into play somewhere down the road.

How did you start your recording career?

In high school, I was approached by my friend to write a hook for their song. That led me to joining their rap group and I became the first RnB lady of the group. I have been recording and performing since. (Yup! Very long time I know)

What is your (EP/Single) called? How did you come up with it?

"About Me" is the title of my EP. It was inspired by personal experiences in my past and current relationships. Definitely is hard to record about the person you are in a relationship with, especially if he's your engineer (but I got it all together!). All the tracks were produced in separate times - most of the production were by local Vancouver producers (Mattik, Nylez K, Eng, Blunt). I was also able to collaborate with a guitarist, David G, who created the melodic live instruments on "Make Me Feel" and had Vago play it in the session. I also got to work with Juno Nominated engineer, Jamie Kuse, to finish up the EP - who made everything sound so fire!

The new single coming out Feb 14th featuring Nylez K is called "Underwater". This was inspired by a sample named Underwater that was used when Nylez was produced the track. I then came up with the melody and we decided to go with the idea of relationships in relation to feelings of being deep under water. The constant struggle of being in a relationship that seemed to keep sinking.

What is your genre of music?

R&B :)

Who are your influences?

Musically - Tamia, Destiny's Child, Whitney Houston, Jhene Aiko, H.E.R, Rihanna, 112, Boyz II Men (the list goes on..)

Aside from that a lot of my friends influence me musically too.

How do you define success?

Achieving your goals and continuously going at it. Being able to do what you love.

What can we expect from you in 2020?

Lots of collaborations and performances! I am ready to take on more projects and build on my craft. Also reaching my music to new audiences out in LA, Toronto & Asia.
