What inspires your music?
Undoubtedly the discomforts and dissonance I encounter in my own life as well as the incredible works of others that move me.
How did you start your recording career?
At Abbey Road Studios, much to my surprise. My first recording session was as a member of LA’s Angel City Chorale recording the music of Christopher Tin at Abbey Road. This was before I started producing my solo work, but it was quite a first experience nonetheless!
How did you come up with your single?
This single was a means of alleviating the stream of memories flooding my mind amidst separation from a close friend. It was therapeutic in that way.
What is your genre of music?
Romantic Indie Soul
Who are your influences?
My music is influenced by romantic composers such as Ravel and Bruno Nicolai, soul singers such as Etta James, and the words of Leonard Cohen.
How do you define success?
What an excellent question - and one I should ask more of myself. I would define success as feeling convinced by the quality and integrity of my work. Therefore, I’m internally at ease wholly knowing this piece is the best manifestation of itself I could muster, regardless of how others respond.
What can we expect from you in 2020?
This single precedes the release of my debut album Glass Highways coming this fall! I will be releasing another single, a few more music videos, and holding a remix contest during that time as well!
