What inspires your music?

Other people mostly inspire my music. Things they say and the way they act. Makes me think of how I would act in the same situation and then I start writing lyrics about it. I also write about my own experiences, thoughts and feelings but it‘s usually somehow through other people or connected to others. Sometimes I get inspired by other people‘s facinating stories, either sad or happy ones, doesn‘t matter. I do somehow get stuck on the dramatic stories though. My kids also inspire me everyday – nothing else possible when I‘m around their energy, ideas and inner beauty.

How did you start your recording career?

My recording career mainly started because I made it happen. I‘ve worked for every single thing I‘ve accomplished in my music career – and very proud of it. When I decided to start recording an album I had organized the songs I had written that I wanted to record. I had already pre produced most of them myself because I knew what kind of sound I wanted to have in each song. I‘ve learned a lot in my recording days though. Fx. Not everything can be exactly the way you had planned and I‘ve learned to accept that (I might be too much of a perfectionist sometimes). One experience I learned from as well was after I had the first song on my album recorded (Blame you), mixed, mastered and ready to be released, I realized it wasn‘t at all the sound I wanted in that song. Or any of the songs for that matter. I had it in a reggae version (I used to be in a reggae band) but that wasn‘t „my sound“. So I had the whole song redone. I haven‘t had to do that again, luckily.

What is your LP called? How did you come up with it?

My LP is called BLACKLIGHT. I thought for a long time about what to name my album. I wanted to have a title that I could fit all my song titles into, which I actually was able to with this title. This name also came up because I wanted to have the album cover as a blacklight photoshoot. So that‘s how it all came together. The photoshoot was so fun and interesting. I was half naked with artists spraying blacklight paint on my upper body with a toothbrush! A bit cold but very fun. I loved it. It was quite hard to have the album cover printed in the correct colours I needed for the blacklight to show, but it eventually worked.

What is your genre of music?

My genre in music is mainly pop. I have sung songs in most of the other genres but pop is my main lane. My album is a bit more pop/rock which wasn‘t really planned - but I loved the outcome.

What are your influences?

I listen a lot to amazing vocalists in regards of singing technique. Singers with a lot of ornamentation, that have a big range and great control over their volume use in different parts of their voice. Examples of those singers are Amy Lee from Evanescence (one of my favourite bands), Tori Kelly, Jessie J, Brandi Carlile and Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge. Other influences are singers that have a lot of feeling in their voice, like fx. Hozier, Lewis Capaldi, Adele and Celine Dion. These are just examples, of course.

How do you define success?

I find it a bit hard to define success. I guess each artist has to define success for themselves. I think success to me is mostly when people listen to the music I write and my audience becomes bigger with every song I release along with more positive feedback. Then I know I‘m connecting with people through my songwriting and I feel like I‘m gaining more success each time. This success would be the „outer“ success. The „inner“ success is more important for me though, that is, being able to let my head go and my heart lead. I‘m getting closer and closer to my inner self and therefor inner success but it takes time and work.

What can we expect from you in 2020?

Well, where to begin ... I have a lot of things I am working on. I plan on releasing at least one single in 2020 so you can look forward to that. I‘ll be performing many nights a week at the pub I own in my hometown, so anyone in Helsingborg (Sweden): Feel free to stop by! You can also expect new music videos from me. I have already recorded one this year to the first song on my former album (No Excuse) which is in editing process as we speak so I‘m hoping to release it in June. I was lucky enough to meet these two wonderful guys in Helsingborg that are sponsoring me by photo-/ and videoshooting my artistic work and I am so grateful to them. Therefor; more photo-/ and videoshoots coming out soon!
