What inspired your music?

A little nostalgia and the need to let new generations know about the great music from the past.

Together with this, the need to make feel people understood and supported somehow. I meet very often people  who struggle to cope with everyday happenings, feeling alone in it more often than not.

I want them to feel supported and giving them a little hope in developing the ability to always see that silver lining in dark times.

How did you start your recording career?

I remember this sweet sweet story from when I was 14. I was on a school trip in America and the Institute that hosted us (Frank Sedita Academy, Buffalo, NY), organised a party.

Timidly, the Principal introduced us the vice Principal, who wanted to sing a ‘Spiritual' for us.

I remember been sitting right in front of her. As soon as she started singing, my jaw dropped.

I was in awe, I never heard anything of the sort. At that exact moment something clicked in my head.

I remember how that made me feel and I was like ‘wow, if that made me feel that way, imagine how she felt while singing'. I wanted to keep feeling that way for the rest of my life, so I started singing and taking singing classes by the age of 16.

What is your single called?

Joy

What is your genre of music?

I don't have a particular genre, I write pretty much what comes to mind and what I feel at the moment. I do like Old school R&B music, so I take very much inspiration from that genre and sub-genres.

Who are your influences?

When it comes to singing, my absolute muse is Aretha Franklin (whose song ‘Chain of fools' was the very first song I sang publicly in english at the age of 16 and that got me the admission to the local Conservatoire in my hometown), Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse for their authenticity. Musically speaking, Elvis, Chuck Berry, James Brown, Stevie Wonder and several others.

How do you define success?

I believe there's not a ‘standard' way to measure success. In my specific case, is to share my message to as many people as possible. In a world that incites hatred on a daily basis, I want to be the voice that keeps our bond strong as brothers and sisters under the same sky. If with my music I will manage to bring people together  making sure they know their worth and their impact on other people lives, that sounds like success to me.

What can we expect from you in 2020?

I will be releasing my debut EP in few months time and plan a tour for sharing it with the world.
