Xavier Fuentes: “In Plain Sight"
What inspires your music?
I write about anything and everything, if I’m in the mood to write a song, I’ll write about something I’m going through or something someone I know is going through, I like to write about things I can’t get out of my head to process them better.
How did you start your recording career?
I obviously started out with no gear at all, I first bought my guitar with my own money when I was 13 and taught myself how to play it, I shared covers on Twitter and Instagram, then I started wondering how songs are actually recorded and produced so I did some research, bought a mic and an audio interface and started playing around with different sounds and layers!
What is your (EP/Single) called? How did you come up with it?
I have a single called In Plain Sight out, and a new one called The Worst Part Of Me (Is You) coming June 5th! they’re songs I wrote with my friends Maisy Brown and Amie Liane, and the titles come from the initial ideas we have when we write
What is your genre of music?
Country/Pop!
Who are your influences?
Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Avril Lavigne, Halsey, Lana Del Rey, Shawn Mendes and Malukah
How do you define success?
To me, success is being happy, it’s not about money, it’s all about the goals you achieve!
What can we expect from you in 2020?
A lot of music! I’m gonna have an album come out this year which I’ll announce soon, I’ve been working on it for almost two years and I can’t believe I’m almost done with it!
