Daria Stefan: "Guilty Pleasure" (Exclusive Interview)
What inspires your music?
“ There are a lot of things that inspire my music such as: love, peace, positive things that can inspire others and make them feel loved. I always try to look for the beauty and emotion and put them into my music.”
How did you come up with this song?
“ Everyboody’s Somebody’s Angel” is my first collaboration with the multinominated Grammy, Golden Globes, Oscars awards – Jud Friedman, Frankie J. and Allan Rich. Jud Friedman is known as the composer of the soundtrack of “THE BODYGUARD” – “Run To You” sang by Whitney Houston. Everybody’s Somebody’s Angel is one of my favourite song because I feel like it’s fool of emotion and I think that it shares the most powerful message that “ Everybody is somebody’s Angel in this life”. I’m sure that at least ones in our lifes all of us felt that they were worthless, that they were not good enough or all their powers to continue were gone. In this kind of moments all we need is a shoulder to cry on and somebody to help you to move on.
What is your genre of music?
“I am at the certain period of my life that I think is normal to try new music genres or styles and I think this help me to discover myself and it also helps to create my own style. I really enjoy singing songs that have a message to be heard and especially old songs that tell you a story. I love to sing evergreens such as “Lately” by Steve Wonder, “Purple Rain” by Prince, “Fly Me To The Moon – Frank Sinatra and I have been often told that I am an old soul in a young body. In fact, most of the people that had been listened to me told me that my voice sounds much older than my age. My favourite music genres that I have ever tried are:RNB, POP, SOUL, BLUES and JAZZ! Lately, I have discovered that jazz became a little piece of my heart and I think this passion comes from my new journey at the Music HighSchool Dinu Lipatti from Bucharest where I study JAZZ & POP music. ”
How do you describe success?
I feel like this quote describes perfectly what success means to me: “ Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and how you do it! Not least, the success means for me my music and my voice to be enjoyed and loved, to help others through my music and I like to say “to be like a medicine for their hearts and souls”
What can we expect from you in 2020?
I’m sure that 2020 for me will be a new beginning, this year I will try to release more songs and of course I will try to connect more with my fans so stay tuned!
